'Trump left everyone to die'

In the second impeachment trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump, Democrats say Trump left them to die on the day of the violent attack on the Capitol building.

In the trial, Democrats have used Trump's own words and tweets against him. The debate referred to Trump as the leader of the violence. In an emotional statement, prosecutors gathered images of the violence.

The second day of the trial has shown some new videos of Trump supporters attacking the Capitol building. A video shows how close the attackers came to U.S. lawmakers.

The video shows police helping Capital's political leaders to a safe place. Sometimes it happened within a few feet of the vandals.
Exciting audio from the video shows security officials asking for help and telling them how the attackers used bat and tear gas against them.

Presenting evidence, Congresswoman Stacey Plaskette said the former president deliberately incited violence and targeted senior leaders, including his own vice president, Mike Pence.

"President Trump left everyone in this capital to die," said Congressman Joaquin Castro.

Trump's lawyers will present evidence on their behalf this weekend. However, they have already claimed that the trial is politically motivated and unconstitutional.

The 100-seat Senate would need two-thirds of the vote to impeach Trump. But most Republican senators seem to be loyal to Trump. Trump will be barred from taking office again if accused.

On January 6, thousands of Trump supporters gathered in front of the US Capitol, the US Capitol. At the rally, they aligned themselves with Trump, claiming that the presidential election was rigged and denied Biden's victory.

They then carried out an unprecedented attack inside the Capitol building. Five people, including a police officer, were killed in the violence.
