The
land where a person takes birth and grows up with the touch of motherly love
and affection of the land is called his/her motherland. The name of our
motherland is Bangladesh. We were born here. Bangladesh is an independent
country. She got her freedom in 1971 after a long time of nine months’
sanguinary war. Dhaka is her capital. Bangladesh is a small country with the
area of 1, 47, 570 square kilometers. But we have a big population which is
about 140 million. Bangladesh is a green, fertile and an agricultural country.
Her main crops are rice, jute, sugar-cane and tea. Many kinds of fruits like
jack-fruit, mango, and banana grow here. Many becautiful rivers like the Padma,
the Jamuna are running here. The Royal Bengal Tiger is our national animal,
doel is our national bird and jackfruit is national fruit. We have many
interesting and attractive places like the Sundarbans, Rangamati and Cox’s
Bazar. People of different religions and professions live here in peace. We
love my country very much. We should perform our duty properly to uphold the
honour of our country in the whole world.
